Sutton is a cultural communications company promoting creativity across the globe. Our bespoke strategies span the fields of visual arts, performing arts, design, craftsmanship and architecture. We work with inspiring individuals, museums, galleries, fairs, biennales, organisations and companies, including cultural enterprises, corporate supporters of the arts and luxury brands.

A full-service agency integrating all aspects of communications, our approach is as strategic and results-driven as it is creative and considered. Our team combines international experience and reach with local knowledge and we have an established network of journalists, industry figures and influencers. Through our offices in London, Hong Kong and New York, we offer a seamless approach to all we do, both at home and abroad.

We put thought into the stories we tell, the platforms we use and the people we collaborate with.

Our Work

In 2006, after several years at Tate, Haunch of Venison and the Saatchi Gallery, Calum Sutton founded his own consultancy. Calum believed there was space for a different agency – providing intelligent, bespoke strategies and campaigns, led by people knowledgeable and passionate about art, with a real commitment to deliver. He set about building a like-minded team with ambitious ideas. After two years the team moved into Somerset House, a cultural hub in the heart of London. In 2012, we opened an office in Hong Kong, with New York following in 2014. With our talented team, we are now a full-service communications agency providing clients with an integrated and creative approach. While our capabilities have grown to meet changing needs, we still believe in the same things: passion, dedication, knowledge and networks.

Congratulations to #NickCave for his feature in @tmagazine’s 2019 Greats Issue, which celebrates creators who have fundamentally altered their fields, as well as culture at large. Known for his “Soundsuits,” Cave works between the visual and performing arts. “Using materials that range from twigs to crystals to rainbow-colored hair, the artist makes sculptures that, for all their beauty, are visceral and necessary critiques of racial injustice,” @meganogrady writes in her profile of the artist. Pick up a copy of the #TGreatsIssue this Sunday, October 20 to learn more about Cave and fellow honorees #RachelWeisz, @nicolasgesquiere and #ShigeruBan. 18 hours ago

“GO HANG A SALAMI IM A LASAGNA HOG” is the title of #CalvinMarcus’s upcoming exhibition of new work at #DavidKordanskyGallery, a nod to the Los Angeles-based artist’s brand of humorous surrealism. On view November 1, 2019 through January 11, 2020, the show features a series of paintings that debuted at the @whitneymuseum’s #WhitneyBiennial this year. The exhibition will be the artist’s most extensive and immersive to date, with the gallery transforming into a "rabbit hole" where four bodies of work—including paintings, sculpture, and photography—unfold across its three exhibition spaces. #PromotingCreativity 5 days ago

@MuseumMACAN announces its 4th commission for the UOB Museum MACAN Children’s Art Space since opening in November 2017. For the upcoming project, renowned Thai artist Mit Jai Inn will present his first commissioned work for children, titled Color in Cave, which will run from 25 October 2019 to March 2020. Color in Cave will see the UOB Museum MACAN Children’s Art Space completely transformed, where children will be able to immerse themselves in the environment that is set up to resemble a cave – often depicted as the dwelling place for human beings. The cave concept was chosen because in its bareness, it sharpens the senses and opens minds to possibilities, thereby encouraging creativity and experimentation among children. #PromotingCreativity #ContemporaryArt #MitJaiInn #ChildrensArtSpace #Jarkata 6 days ago

Over the past few weeks, visitors to #TheAfricaCenter have had the unique opportunity to watch artist @Thenjiwe_Niki_Nkosi create her immersive installation, "Gymnasium." While the expansive and abstracted arena celebrates the successes of renowned athletes such as #SimoneBiles or #GabbyDouglas, it equally represents the unseen powers that have worked against these heroines. Officially opening to the public today, "Gymnasium" examines the pressing dynamics of black vulnerability in white spaces, using the theatrics of Nkosi’s painting and its installation to bring to light the role of observation in discrimination. #PromotingCreativity 6 days ago

A collaboration with the Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Corporation and their aboriginal communities, “OttO” was produced using a camera that visualizes electromagnetic radiation at sacred sites.
